Everything a Building Needs to Say

Wayfinding systems, ADA signage, donor walls, monuments, and full branded environments — designed, documented, fabricated, and installed by one team. Based in Austin, working across Texas and nationally.

Overview

Every building communicates whether anyone designed it to or not. Room numbers, directories, door signs, the logo over the entrance — people read all of it, constantly, without noticing. Specified separately, those pieces contradict each other. Designed as one system, the building becomes legible.

Environmental graphic design is the discipline that treats them as one system. It sits between architecture and graphic design: wayfinding, identification, regulatory and ADA signage, branded interiors, donor recognition, and experiential installation, developed against the same decisions about material, hierarchy, and how people move through a space.

Building Image Group has practiced it since 2000, from first concept through documentation, fabrication, and installation.

That range shows up in the work: approximately 5,500 signs across four environments at Waterline, the tallest building in Texas; a sponsorship package delivered on arena timelines at Moody Center; signage replaced across 16 hospitals and multiple clinics for Medical City Healthcare.

No one walks into a building to look at the signage. The work is done when they stop thinking about it.
